YouTuber Arrested for False Claim of 24-Hour Airport Stay

Vikas Gowda, a YouTuber with a significant following, has sparked controversy and legal action after falsely claiming to have spent more than 24 hours at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport without being noticed by security personnel. This claim led to an investigation by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and subsequent legal charges against Gowda.

According to reports, Gowda entered the airport with a valid ticket for an Air India flight but did not board the plane. Instead, he allegedly wandered around the airport premises, recording videos on his mobile phone. On April 12, he uploaded a video on his YouTube channel, where he boasts about evading security for an extended period, casting doubt on the airport's security measures.

The video quickly gained traction, prompting the CISF to file a complaint against Gowda for spreading false information. Subsequently, Gowda was arrested under IPC sections 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 448 (house trespass). However, he was released on bail and the contentious video was removed from his channel.

Authorities investigating the incident discovered that Gowda had spent only a few hours at the airport, contrary to his claims of a 24-hour stay. It was also revealed that he did not take the scheduled flight to Chennai, suggesting that his actions were motivated by a desire for publicity.

Gowda now faces legal proceedings and will be required to cooperate with the police for further questioning. The incident serves as a reminder of the consequences of spreading misinformation and the importance of adhering to legal and ethical standards, especially in the age of social media influence.
